On April 6, 2017, ORR TURF presented a plan for revitalizing the outdoor athletic/recreational space at ORR High School, naming it the space the Tri-Town Community Athletic Complex.
The Strategic Master Plan was put together by our committee with the help of Kaestle-Boos Associates, and we're pleased to point out that this engineering work has been completed with NO TAXPAYER MONIES; it is purely thanks to our donors.
On April 6, the Old Rochester School Committee moved that ORR TURF shall assemble a Facilities Committee that shall include a liaison member from the School Committee.
The Tri-Town Athletic Complex revitalization shall include:, 2 Artificial Turf full-sized multi-use fields, a new, expanded 8-lane track that meets the current state recommendations, spectator seating for events on the track, 2 natural grass multi-use fields, new field LED lighting for two fields that will be more efficient and let off less ambient light (and will work!), new goalposts that meet the current safety standards, irrigation for the natural grass fields, baseball and softball diamonds, better athletic team storage, and a fieldhouse with bathrooms, concession stand and a ticket booth.
This plan will transform the space into a facility the entire Tri-Town will benefit from for a generation or more. We look forward to working with the town boards to make this vision a reality.
